Leigh Ann & Paul

We photographed these two in a beautiful winter engagement session and they were just awesome. We met at the lake Harriet bandstand and did some really sweet snowy photos. After a gorgeous walk around the lake and a little winter "picnic" we grabbed some coffee and warmed up inside. We really loved spending time with these two and can't wait to photograph their wedding this fall.

Lindsey & Kevin's Wedding

Lindsey is a one of a kind gem, the type of girl that you could talk to for hours and hours and want to know more about, she has such a great outlook on life and a real grasp of who she is. She has found a deep love for Kevin. Kevin is one of the kindest guys I have ever met, he has a huge heart and heart that is all for Lindsey. When you see the way he looks at Lindsey you know he is head-over-heels for this girl.

Their wedding day was one darling day filled with the perfect fall pallet, full of rich oranges, sumac reds, browns and the perfect gold that sparkled in the autumn sun. Lindsey look absolutely stunning in her vintage inspired all lace dress with a gold leaf hair piece that matched perfectly, and Kevin looked quite dapper in his suit, with a small hint of fun with some bright orange socks that matched Lindsey's heels.  They had planned every detail of their wedding day and it all came together seamlessly.

Proposal at Goosberry Falls

Last friday after we launched the new website we headed up north to Duluth for a day trip. We visited Goosberry falls for a hike and on the way back we saw this couple walking far under the bridge we were walking on. Bethany said "hey I think that guy is proposing!" So I pulled the camera out and got a couple photos!

We couldn't get down to the base to get in touch with them as we were pretty far away but we left our contact info with the gift shop in case they stopped in. About an hour later, we got an email from the couple and sent them the photos!

Congrats to the couple at the falls!

Kelly and Jack's Wedding

July 19th was a beautiful day for a wedding in Vadnis Heights, Minnesota and we can's stop raving about how fun and beautiful Kelly and Jack's big day was.

Since we first met Kelly and Jack we could see such a spark between them in everything they do. From romantic glances and subtle hand holding to making funny faces and little jokes these two really compliment each other so well. Their wedding day was a prime example of this. While getting ready all Jack could talk about was getting to see Kelly and making sure she received the card and roses he got her at just the right time. After Kelly first saw Jack during the first look her eyes continued to wander towards him for the rest of the day.

We're so glad to have gotten to know this couple and had been a part of their beautiful day. We could go on and on about their wedding but what better way to describe it than with photographs?

Enjoy!

Markus and Erin's Backyard Wedding

Markus and Erin created such an amazing backyard wedding in late July and we couldn't wait to share it with you. These two really just wanted to have a great party with great friends, family, music, food, and beer.

The wedding was held in Kenyon, MN at Erin's mothers beautiful country home. The day was perfect, not to hot or cold, with an amazing sunset. Markus and Erin wanted a real quick wedding ceremony and a really fun and intimate reception. Their ceremony was the quickest we had ever done! It came in at just under 4 minutes. Markus and Erin got right to the point and had their friends and family gather around while they gave their vows and exchanged rings. They had a couple of bands play, multiple kegs of quality beer, and just had a really great night to celebrate their union.

It really was a beautiful day for a couple of really great people. Cheers guys!

Jenny and Joel's Anniversary

Four years ago we photographed Jenny and Joel's wedding up in northern Minnesota. Jenny was a good friend of Bethany and their wedding was one of the first ones we had ever photographed. I got to know Jenny and Joel after that and we quickly all became really great friends! Bethany and I got married later that summer and with Jenny and Joel being fellow photographers we sort of gotten into a habit of trading anniversary sessions every year.

This summer marked the four year anniversary for both of us and of course, we had to carry on the tradition of a yearly session. Jenny and Joel were in town for a wedding photography meeting and we made time for a quick evening session together at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis.

Jenny and joel wanted a "flower child" antique feel to their photos and brought along a ton of sweet stuff from their house. Joel brought his guitar and was quite a trooper carrying all the rest of their stuff all over the woods! We had a beautiful golden glow from the sunset and couldn't have asked for a nicer evening with these guys.

Of course, Jenny and Joel photographed Bethany and I as well, but I'll let her tell you about that over on her blog! (Click Here!)

Here are some of their images. Hope you love em!

Kaila & CJ's Wedding

We are just so happy about this wedding! Kaila and CJ had the perfect day, an incredible setting, and the most amazing party. Kaila is pretty much a sister to Bethany and they have known each other for their entire lives so it was an honor to be able to photograph her special day.

The weekend of the wedding was SO beautiful in Detroit Lakes, MN complete with beautiful woods, sprawling fields, and scenic views.

////

Kaila was the most calm and relaxed bride I have ever seen on her wedding day, she was taking in every moment as they came. She paid very close attention to detail and every part of her day had meaning to her and CJ. She wore his shirt all morning until it was time to put her dress on, her hair was done just the way CJ likes, and her shoes and hairpiece were completely lovely, just like Kaila. Everything flowed so perfectly together.

CJ and his groomsmen gathered in the morning to get ready at his parent's house on the lake. It was a beautiful morning and you could just feel the excitement in the air. Amidst having fun with his guys you could see it in his eyes that he just couldn't wait another moment to see his bride.

CJ and Kaila opted to do a first look session for their wedding and had set up a quilt fort in the yard to spend some time together before all the excitement of the day. We captured them seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day here.

We took a quick (air conditioned, phew!) trip to the lake down the street and photographed them as cars passed by honking and shouting their well wishes. It was supposed to rain all day but we really couldn't have asked for a better sky. After the lake we moved back to the ranch and photographed in the woods, in the fields, and even with the horses! The three horses were so happy to be loose in a new field but Kaila's horse came right over to see her and pose for a photo.

Kaila and CJ paid a lot of attention to all the little details in their wedding day and the setting truly showed their personalities.

The programs were handmade and tied with twine and the banners on the guest table were all made from burlap, twine, and hand painted lettering. The head table was decorated with beautiful flower boxes and was backed by antique reclaimed doors hinged together.

The ceremony was outdoors right where the forest breaks with the chairs arranged in a half moon formation. In lieu of a traditional archway a beautiful ribbon of fabric was hung from the trees draping down as a backing to the "stage."

Kaila and CJ said some beautiful things, exchanged the rings, planted a tree, and had quite the kiss!

The reception was in a giant tent in the field and turned into quite a party as the sun was going down and the dance floor was heating up. The bar was homemade from another reclaimed door, pallets, and strands of burlap. The food was catered by an amazing local restaurant, the cake was incredibly tasty, and the kids even got to ride ponies! The party went well into the night with everyone dancing, having tons of fun, and celebrating Kaila and CJ's day.

Just when we thought this wedding couldn't be any cuter, we snuck away after Kaila and CJ had made their exit and photographed the two of them with baby kittens that live in the barn. Seriously? Cute overload.

Thanks for letting us share this beautiful couple's wedding day.
